Hernia Mesh Class Action Lawsuit

Hernia mesh is used in surgery to support tissue that has been weakened due to the patient having had a hernia. There are two types of hernia mesh. One is made using animal tissue, the other is made using synthetic materials.

The mesh is used in surgery to support abdominal tissue that was weakened or damaged due to th hernia. The mesh is a temporary short-term solution that is put in place to support the body while the tissue gets stronger on its own. Absorbable mesh is supposed to be absorbed into the tissue over time and non-absorbable mesh stays in the body indefinitely.

Like vaginal mesh, hernia mesh causes a long list of serious medical problems including:

• Bowel obstruction
• Seroma
• The need for additional revision surgery
